The Body of Jesus
And he is the head of the body, the church, he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
The forms of the church
Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.
Simplicity of the church
And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Dealing with differences
“Master,” said John, “we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”
“Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.”
Singing in the Spirit
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
We do not have to be perfect to do God’s will
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all- surpassing power is from God and not from us.
Turning the other cheek
If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.
Stand for what is right
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.”
Love your neighbor
Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
Love’s sacrifice
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends
